Baby Nature Walk

You will need:

  • A nice place to walk


  1. Hold on to your baby’s hands as they are learning to walk.
  2. As you see flowers comment on the smells and colours. You might say for example “Look at the flower, it is a purple flower, we can smell flowers”
  3. As you see animals or insect comment on how big or small it is or loud or quiet for example “ I see a dog barking, wow it is a loud barking sound”


  • If you talk out loud so your baby hears your voice
  • Your baby will develop bonding to your voice and feel reassured when they venture to look or hear new things


  • If you support your baby as they look at flowers and animals
  • Your baby will develop an understanding of nature and enjoy the experience
